Tharu Lodge is a small, family-run hotel in Sauraha. It has private rooms, a garden, a swimming pool, shared areas and food available at the hotel. This website is being updated with current photographs and practical information.

Nepali and Western food is available at the lodge, including vegetarian and vegan options.

A limited menu of snacks and drinks is available during the day. Early breakfast from 06:00 is available when included with a jungle activity.
Barbecues require at least four hours’ notice and a minimum of two people. Meat, river fish and vegetarian options are available.

Tharu Lodge works with its own guides. One-day activities can usually be booked after arrival. Longer trips should be arranged in advance.

Good to know
Open normally from 15 September to 30 June. Closed from 1 July to 14 September.
Arrival
Check-in from 14:00. Earlier arrivals may wait in the shared areas. Arrivals after 22:00 require advance notice.
Departure
Check-out at 12:00. The main gate normally closes at 22:00; notified guests can retain access until midnight.
Quiet hours
Quiet from 22:00. Parties and guests’ own music are not permitted.
Cleaning
Room cleaning, bed linen and towels every two nights. Daily service is available for an additional charge.
Visitors
External visitors may stay for up to one hour. They cannot enter rooms or use the pool.
Children and animals
Children are accepted with no minimum age. Guests’ pets are not accepted. A dog lives at the hotel; birds, cats and monkeys may appear in the garden.
